Andrew Fischer proudly auctioned off space on his forehead for $37,375 on eBay. As if we’re not sick of everything being subjugated with advertising stickers, posters, videos, TV brakes, and what not, that some of these crazy hunks have allowed their skins to go down with it, so now it’ll be my Nike dad, Addidas bro and Channel 5 mom.
Of course it’s not a new phenomenon. Marketing companies are thinking out of the box and with so little space on newspapers, magazines and other media, they’ve very smartly moved on to walking canvases, and why not, after all it’s innovative, and being more conspicuous, do make a mark. Agencies call it advertising, they call it skin art and I call it gaucherie.
