On one side where army has loosened its grip on tattoos, there’s a different story going on the other corner. Now you won’t be seeing any DPS patrol officers flaunting their inked skins. The Texas Department of Public Safety has asked all its officers to cover their tattoos with long-sleeve shirts or skin-toned patches while on duty.



The department strongly believes in maintaining the clean image of the officers and think tattoos as hindrance to achieve the same. As per the rules, troopers are required to keep their hair short, their shoes polished and keep their jewelry at home.



Will they be able to check the increasing tattoo phenomenon by forcing people, I doubt so. It’s a disrespect to the art and an individual’s personal choice too, especially when he is delivering his best even with his inked skin.
