Removal of criminals’ tattoos with the funds of tax-payers is under controversy in New Zealand. The scheme active in Auckland and Waikato was introduced to rehabilitate prisoners.
The program must be scraped as it helps the criminals to get off the hook after getting involved in fresh crimes. It is a complete waste of public money. Criminals, who show signs of reformation, must only be included under the program. But it is not easy to construe whether the criminals will not re-offend.
