Wanna get a real funky tattoo done but scared of needles? Well, then here is a source of inspiration for all the tattoo buffs. Also, if you can not decide where to get the design on your body canvas, this Canadian national might give you an out-of-the-world idea. This Toronto man has got a tattoo done. Nothing unusual, except that he has got it on his eyeballs! Basically, he has got the whites of his eyes turned blue by getting the pigment injected under the top layer of the eye (conjunctiva), with the help of no less then 40 blue ink injections at a Canadian body modification convention. This is usually done in some kinds of eye problems only.
After an unsuccessful attempt with the traditional tattoo needle, instead of giving up the idea, he got it done with a syringe. Wierd though it seems, this is actually the medical art of corneal tattooing and is on its way to become a new type of ‘elective body modification’ (read mutilation!). Now, that’s to be called as ‘creativity with a masochistic touch’. That indeed leaves me amazed about how far people can go with tattooing, but also with a simple query; what if he gets bored with the colour blue?!

WHAT THE !@#$$%^^&*((*&^^%!
wordspark, sorry to say, but how can this eyeball tattoo idea be a funky tattoo? I don’t tolerate to see it. a needle inserted in the eyes to get it coloured? ( some people start crying with the thought of injection )I don’t very much appreciate the idea. Why don’t the health scientists make researches on the effects of this eye ball tattoo?
Is there any other body part left out to be tattooed? LOL!
Dear Sasmita,
Thank you for the comment.
The idea is indeed ’funky’ for those who are crazy for tattooing and are ready to go to such extremes and not for an ordinary person.
Please also note that in the same article i have considered such tattooing as a kind of body mutiliation, wierd as well as masochistic.

I might be mistaken on this, but medical syringes are needles. The only difference is how the ink/dye is injected.
You would still see a needle coming right for your eye.
I seem to remember reading something about this quite a while ago. If I remember correctly, the dye does fade over time. Getting this redone would probably get tedious.
Hi Abby,
Thanks for reasing and commenting :)

must hav 2 big fat mutha fucken balls.. OWWWW!!!!
People are going to extremes of doing things to themselves maybe because they have to be more special than others.
Anyway a needle in the eye is much more frightening than a needle on the skin and an injection is a needle
Hi Ann
Thanks for the comment.
Yes i agree. Sometimes people go upto frightning extremes to look different.

The whole idea is wonky.
I’d like to correct the post a bit. This image is of SHANNON LARRATT’s eyeball tattoo. He was not poked 40 times with traditional method but it was “Pauly Unstoppable” and his eyeball tattoo was done with 28ga needle by injecting the ink into sclera. The person to get eyeball tattoo was Josh along with them by Howie.
These images are of July, 2007. Now his eyeball tattoo has recovered after having some problems with a cyst-type structure developing and he has a plan to turn his eye blue!
Hi Disha
