These are the friends of 17-year-old Michael Tkach, who died on Saturday morning. I was taken aback to see the love of these friends who inked themselves with Michael Tkach’s name (a popular Mahopac teen) to commemorate him. Some mourned with tears and some with black ink.
To ink yourself with the memories of the dead is no less than writing an elegy for him.
