Katie has seen more of the darker side of life and has lost many near and dear people. There is hardly anything to look forward to in her life. But Katie is not giving up and has invented all new meaning for her life. Katie works in dorms and helps people to overcome odds and pains of their life. Their gratitude is a source of sustenance for Katie. And how does Katie inspire herself to carry on her crusade to help others? Well, she carries her motto of life on her shoulders! Her shoulder tattoo inspired by Emily Dickinson’s poem ‘Not in Vain’ says;

I shall not live in vain.

This tattooed poetic line surrounded by flurries (which are from a dandelion on her back) is a statement of her self-inspiring life. Some people’s life itself becomes an inspiration for others. Katie will surely be a winner at the end of the day!
