In his 2005 volume of the Fordham Intellectual Property, Media and Entertainment Law Journal, John Vukelj, Cornell University School of Law, has published “Post No Bills: Can the NBA Prohibit Its Players From Wearing Tattoo Advertisements?” The article focuses on the use of tattoo advertisements by sportsmen. The practice is quite popular amongst professional players, but the NBA is set to prohibit the practice.
What if players are able to make few extra bucks, rather loads of bucks, by displaying some ink. I think it is also connected with the spirit of the game, where you want to look trendier, which you really do, when you are a star player. And tattoos embellish the whole phenomenon, especially when it is also bringing a lot of money along with it. The whole controversy is baseless.
