They say we walk by faith and not by sight. Indeed, faith is something without which we can hardly hope to survive, and Steph here seems eager to pass that message through ink. The famous lines spoken by Benjamin Franklin - “The way to see by faith is to shut the eye of reason” have been translated by Mike into Tibetan. Inked by Scarred for Life, the tattoo proves to be an ideal way t to put forth one’s beliefs to the world. Besides, it is off-beat enough to catch the onlooker’s eye, being inked on the neck and upper back. A neat job, that’s for sure!

As the person with this tattoo, I want to tell you more of what this is actually meant to mean as it is odd how everyone translates it into their ”own” meaning.
This is the Tibetan Translation for the Ben Franklin quote ”The way to see by faith is to shut the eye of reason”.
That would be a hefty atheist quote. Meaning, the way to see by faith (god... or any religion), is to shut the eye of reason (to rule out all rational thinking).
I am an atheist, and it is the theme for my tattoo designs on myself.
Next to come will be old english script with ”Fear is the mother of morality”. Hopefully, the religious nut jobs will get that meaning correct.
